im back! (:

6 Days Taiwan, Taipei tour.
7/4/2006 - 12/4/2006

***

Day 1

wake up feeling sleepy.
pack my stuff for the last time and off to keat hong to get doggy's pandan cake.
walk up to south view station, cos mn uncle sending us there.
didnt know which terminal it is, so we tried budget terminal.
there isnt any sign of jetstar, so we assume its at T1.

so yepp, reach there, meet the rest up and went checking in.
had mac for erm lunch? then went up plane.

didnt manage to sleep well cos of the narrow squeezy seat,
and next half of the journey was photo taking.

a small incident happen in between.
there's this 3 knnbccb big shot angmoh sitting infront of us,
first, they turn and said that we are too loud,
then it was hitting and shouting at weihui becos our hand keep stretching to their "boundary"
rude? we are rude?
like hello, hitting ppl's hand not rude lah?
go back eat shit pls.
this does dampen out mood abit, but not long.

so after flying for 4 hours, we are in Taiwan.
checking out was kinda long, dunno what the heck they checking also.
taking lugguage worse! freaking slow.
anyway, manage to take a bus to taipei, but not right to our hotel.

thereafter reaching somewhere near 小巨蛋, we took cab down to wantai hotel.
we spilt into 2 cab, the one im taking my goodness,
the auntie ah, dunno how to go to the place we want i think.
super anyhow.
but we eventually reach there safely.
the ppl at wantai super nice.
as in like they are very friendly, always smiling.
after checking in, we went to our respective rooms,
then meet again at the lobby.

at the same time, doggy and her friend is meet me at the lobby too.
i got no idea why i laughed so loudly when the lift door open and i saw her.
maybe that a way to break the ice? hahahaha..
anyway like finally i saw her, was kinda nervous at first,
but slowly we manage to mix well, just like what we did during online chatting.
so yepp, they bring us to 饶河夜市.

eat and eat, shop and shop, buy and buy,
thats what we do.
had 药炖排骨，青蛙下蛋，印度拉茶，杏鲍菇that day.

杏鲍菇is really nice lah. hahaha.
wasnt feeling too good that night,
maybe due to the flight.
anyway, they left at 12am, becos they wanna catch the last bus back home.
so yea, after saying goodbyes, we continue shopping,
only to get back to the hotel at 1am.
hahaha..

on the way back, doggy's friend called,
said that they didnt manage to catch the last bus back,
so was thinking if they could share a night with us.
of cos we dont mind, and i went down to fetch them up.
but!!
how sai we are and how clever the hotel can get.
the lift in wantai hotel will auto open at 2nd floor lobby even though we didnt press it.
so the receptionist saw doggy and fang li, and ask who are they.
i tried all ways to let them go up, but the counter person still refused to.
so yepp, no choice but to left the hotel.
they have to take cab back home.
feel kinda bad, cos they bring us ard,
yet have to spent big bucks on transport back home.
sigh.
anyway, told the rest abt it,
and we decided to treat doggy a good meal tml.
back then in our room,
6 of us squeeze in 1 queen and 1 single bed,
looking forward to next day.

Day 2

Its 杨明山and 淡水day!

meet doggy 930am at圆山MRT station.

because she lost her hp, thus i was unable to contact her.
so we ended up waiting for each other without knowing that both parties had already reached.
we then went down to 新北投MRT station there and transfer bus down to 竹子湖.

the journey up was horrible. crazy driver thats all i can say.
the 6 of us was like bouncing up and down,
luckily we manage to find some seats. phew.

so yepp, after 15mins of bus journey,
we reached杨明山-竹子湖.
and so the moment we step down the bus,
all of us was like screaming away.
cos its freaking cold up there!
like say ard 14 degrees????
hahahhaha..
but i felt happy there, cos its mountain, lake, farm everything.

snap lotsa photos there, finally saw the 海芋i long to see.
nice nice nice!
then we went up to the street there to shop abit.
hot and nice sweet potatos,
guavas, fruits,
flowers..
awww~~
bought some calla-lily back,
hope that i can bring it back to sg. hurhur.

we only stay there for ard 45mins,
and went down to the famous 花钟
where the clock is made of flower.
snap lotsa of photos there too.
its all about flowers! (:

we then took a small bus to the nearest MRT station,
and make our way to 淡水.

first of all! we had our lunch at a 刷刷锅shop!

hahaha and thats our very first proper meal since day 1.
NT$199 each pax, eat till you song!
and yepp, we promised to treat doggy for this meal.
very nice, very fun, very full!
lol.

everybody is like stuffing their "waste" food into their stomach. hahahaha.
and oh pls! doggy love those "ham" inside local cha kuay tiao soooo much!
she ate like almost 40++?
hahahahaha!! bth! XD

after our lunch, we began our spreeeee!
淡水老街sell more on food and accessories,
but its a nice experience walking along the 3 streets.

we eventually reach the shore of 淡水,
and then took a ferry over to 渔人码头.
woohoo! nice scenary i can say.
the bridge is nice and huge!
took super lotsa of photo there too,
have crazy actions and stuff.
hahahaha. fun!

so yepp, good things dont last,
2 days of fun with doggy had come to an end.
so nice of her, she help me draw the map of 西门町for tml.
we then bid farewell at the MRT station,
actually i had never think of saying goodbyes,
because the days had been too great.
felt kinda mix that moment,
everything seems to be going too fast.
sigh.
oh well! there's always another chance to meet up! (:
upon reaching hotel,
everybody was deadbeat,
and went to sleep early.

Day 3

Its Shopping Spree day!
before that, we received a call from the recept. saying that there a letter for me.
was kinda shock who the heck send me stuff but then again, it might be doggy.
went down took it and open up to read.
hahaha so sweet of her lah, inside is a fish-tank alike card, and a雄狮butter lion pencil.
very touch, but at the same time, was thinking what i can do in return.
but its seems quite hard for a foreigner huh? lol.

anyway after having our breakfast, we immediately head down to 西门町
but unfortunately, only a few shops are open.
so we decided to head down to MOS burger to grab some food.
doggy told me must try MOS布雷,
first because its very nice,
second because the bottle is damn cute!
hahahahaha!!

after finish eating, the shops are finally open,
thus everybody went 血拼 LOL.
saw Mister Donut shop!
nicey nice nice!
especially the original donut Pon De Ring蜜糖波提
OMG super nice can!
the taste very Q~,
lol dunno how to describe it here,
just try it next time when you guys go taiwan!

actually the weather was quite bad that day,
its was raining on and off.
manage to try doggy's recommendation 50岚-波霸奶茶
whoot nice!! i love milk, i love tea,
i love the drink! hahahahaha XD

then it was shop and shop and shop.
head down to 台北地下购物中心to shop ard.
nothing much though. haha.
next we head台北101 at night.
anna wf mn and jm went up to the top to view the scenary,
while me and wh went over to newyork newyork.
haiya, going up 101 to see need money can,
both of us dont think its worth, so we didnt went up.
snap some photos and had mister donut again. yum.

we then meet up and took cab back to hotel.
only manage to go to bed at around 3am cos they went五分埔again.

Day 4

Bad bad start of the day.
its raining heavily!
ok maybe not as heavy back in sg.
but we are going 九份!!
mountain top so freaking cold can.
anyway the whole day was super cold lah.
cos its raining whole day plus strong wind.
burrr.

took railway train down to瑞芳,
and took bus up to 九份.
weee i love that place the most.
cos everything seems laid back.
no worries no troubles no everything.
nice ppl, nice food.
九份is something similar to淡水老街
more on food and accessories.
because its still raining up there,
everybody plays with the smoke-coming-out-from-mouth.
lol.
met their sort of drills up there,
where ppl are not allowed to go out to the main road,
and must stay put inside the street.
kinda rare huh?
didnt manage to eat 阿甘姨芋圆
because it was freaking far up.
so yepp, decided to drop庙口,

and head back taipei to五分埔.
on the way back to hotel,
we saw this sign which shows the current time and the temperature,
and guess what?!?!

14 degree please!!
i cant imagine most of us are wear 3/4 or shorts,
and only with 1-2jacket/sweater on top.
this is insane! LOL!
had茶叶蛋and instant noodles from 7-11 for dinner,
and then head down to五分埔.
actually五分埔isnt that greatful as what we thought it might be,
because the stuff there is expensive,
and we cant even try on them!
cheap only in the sense if you buy in bulk lah.
boo.
after going seperate walks with the other 4,
me and wh went back to room to rest awhile,
and head down to饶河夜市again.
this time round due to the rain,
most of the stalls are not open.
manage to try the 胡椒饼,
which i find it quite nice, but not the type for wh.
hahahaha.
ate 咸酥鸡also,
no much of a different with 大鸡排.
feeling wet the whole day. >""<

Day 5

Went out late today.
but weather was good today!
blazing sun is out again! (:
didnt manage to have our breakfast at the hotel,
thus we went to a nearby 饺子shop to eat.

then we decided to go back西门町to continue our shopping for awhile,

and then head our way down to美丽华Miramar.
took MRT to 剑谭station,
and then shuttle bus to 美丽华.

just nice when we reach there its near evening time,
where the sun is setting, and the ferris wheel is lighting up.
took lotsa of nicey nice nice photos,
spastic photos where the 5 of them jump in the air,
and etc. hahahaha.

we then went up to buy the tickets for the ferris wheel,
and board the "wheel".
the whole journey took 17mins.
but up there we dont feel the 17mins.
so fast! hahahaha..
anyway nice scenary of the whole taipei,
can see 101 and planes taking off.
its our last night in taipei,
thus must make good use of it.

so after the 17mins,
we took the shuttle bus back to 剑谭station,
and walk over to 士林夜市.
omg freaking alot of pple!
had the famous 豪大大鸡排
suuuuper big! we had that for our dinner. lol.

over at the other streets are mainly shops,
everybody manage to buy bagss there,
but because most of us are quite broke alr,
thus we didnt manage to shop much.
quite a pity though.
nvm we learnt our lesson, next time we shall put here as our first stop!
hahahaha.
head back to our hotel at ard 11pm.
pack all our stuff, squeeze as much as we can,
and went sleep.
had 茶叶蛋and instant noodle for ~~dinner~~ supper again.

Day 6

Wake up late again.
anna was the first to bathe, but she was shouting no hot water for her.
at first we thought its only our room,
but come to realise that the everybody's room also the same.
so we went for breakfast for the last time,
and by the time we went down, the hot water is back.
bathe everything and we head down somewhere near 101 to exchange some cash before heading down to西门町for our last shot.

before going, we put our lugguage at the hotel lobby.
the counter lady saw me taking the flower,
so she asked me if i want to put at the reception,
as in not to spoil the flower.
so yepp, i agree and then we went out.
upon reaching, everybody went seperate for their stuff,
me and anna went exchange her bag and buy her jean,
then came wf and help me search for lighter.
we then meet at mister donut because most of us are buying donuts back to sg.
after getting all our stuff, we rush back to hotel because we are late.
took the mini van the receptionist help us to call,
and down right to 桃园国际机场.
on the way, we had 水煎包for lunch.
then suddenly i shouted.
"我的海芋！！！！"

cos i told wf i was recalling how our room looks,
and see if we what we left there.
so while my mind scanned through the mirror table,
and i remember my flower!
GAHHHHH!! its with the receptionist!!
thats what i said.
SIGH. was kinda sad and pissed with myself the whole journey.
but well, forget it then.
just take it that i give it to the pretty receptionist then.
hahahaha.
so faster around 45mins of journey,
we reached the airport.
while checking in, everybody got kinda pissed with the women.
cos she was like saying we cant bring so many hand lugguage up blar blar.
thus we have to repack everything, even checking of our food.
anyway we are not the worse lah,
cos there's this 3 girl infront of us,
had even more stuff than us.
hahaha.
we then had BK for ermm lunch/dinner?
last meal in taiwan. sobss.

then went boarding,
and head back to our homeland,
Singapore.

后记：

Taiwan is indeed a nice place. oh well, maybe next time i'll still go there, but not with tour. didnt get to complete my task, shopping. keke. but other than that, the scenaries are all worthwhile. really. realise there's isnt any problem getting a life there, coz place was okay, language wise was yah, alright. Airport. i remember watching a show, and this host was saying that, in airport, there are so many different kinds of people heading for different destinations.

我们都是擦肩而过的陌生人，带着不同的心情到不同的地方。或许在你前面的人，是为了工事出国，你后面的人或许是去过旅游，哪个不小心撞到你的人，或许是因为家人出事了，赶着回家，等等。机场真的是个很妙的地方。

Thats what i wrote in the previous Taiwan Trip with my family in June 2005.
upon reading, i realise i did fulfill what i wanted to do.

Free n easy.
Shopping.

I'm glad that i went back there again.

This time round with different group of people,
meeting long awaited friend,
getting to place on our own.

Although planning of this trip did make me pissed off quite a couple of times,
but there's always this special something when going out with vikerz.
deeply appreciate this trip.
i've learnt, have fun, have food shared, have discussion and lotsa more.
hope theres more to come.

Another "gladful" would definitely be meeting doggy.
although it was kind stiff when we first met,
but i feel that we can mixed well very fast.
the feeling is just so amazing, i felt as though those online chatting are real life stuff.
i'm really super gladful that i know you,
thank you for bringing us around for that 2 days,
im sure you did found your long lost happiness ya?
thank you so much for the effort you put in,
the cards, the gifts,
really really appreciated!!
i did feel quite sad when we have to part,
but nvm! wait till you come over to singapore,
you'll be my guest alright! ((:

I've told wh about this,
im actually quite proud that we travel to many place all on our own.
taking MRT, railway train, buses, cab, everything.
some familiar place i've been to, some afresh.
yayness.
all the planning and searching of information pays off.
((:

oh well, i guess the only 遗憾 would be the bad weather. :/

Taiwan i'll be back again!
